Our Etsy shop is curated with weddings and events in mind, offering vintage and alternative bridal wear, romantic vintage bridal nightgowns, occasion wear, wedding gifts and accessories.  So, it’s the perfect place to browse if you have a special occasion to attended and are looking for a great one-off outfit or wedding gift.

Whether or not you are able to discover it, a vintage piece has a story. Steeped in history, the provenance behind a vintage item creates a sense of romance and adds to its charm and uniqueness.

Vintage & Fashion Sustainability

Vintage clothing and gifts within the shop are selected for their character and quality. In the age of mass-production, vintage clothing has a huge role to play in making fashion more sustainable. The quality of vintage clothing is often far greater than the fast fashion produced today.

However, sometimes our new-found vintage pieces require some repair so when this is the case these items are sent to a professional tailor before being listed for sale in the shop. The repairs made to a piece will always be stated in the listing. Vintage clothing has such beautiful quality, so wherever possible our motto is “repair for re-wear”.

We only use biodegradable plastic postage bags and will as far as possible use recycled boxes to post but do take absolute care that your item arrives safely.

We love the uniqueness found in each vintage piece and embrace the idea of connecting an item with a new owner to be loved once more.

Based on the beautiful Isle of Wight, Botanical Vintage is a small, home business which began in 2005 as a vintage stall.

I find myself drawn to anything a little different and inspiring. My years of trading in vintage has provided me with a much-needed creative outlet, which I feel is now very much part of who I am.

Coronavirus Appeal National Emergencies Trust

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Botanical Vintage’s event hire items are currently sitting in storage waiting to be wonderfully styled for a fabulous occasion! So, we decided that we would put it all to good use while raising some much-needed funds for a great charity.

During 2020, there will be no set hire fee for many of the items in our inventory. Instead, we are asking for donations to the National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal via our gofundme page which can be found here:

Times are tough, weddings on the island have been postponed this year and budgets are stretched. So once lockdown measures are lifted so that some weddings and events can take place, we would love to help!

We have a skilled eye for spotting statement vintage pieces and have an amazing collection of 70s peacock chairs, velvet chairs and a huge stunning wicker peacock double love seat. We also have some great creative options for cake tables with a selection of glassware, rugs, candlesticks and other props that add beautiful detail.
